Small-Group Golden Circle Glacier Super Jeep Tour

Departing from your Reykjavik accommodations in the morning in a Super Jeep, the first stop is Thingvellir where the Parliament of Iceland was founded in 930 AD. There, get a view of the edge of America just over the Mid-Atlantic continental divide. Continuing on, pass the geothermal Laugarvatn Lake before arriving at the Great Geysir hot spring area, which is peppered with small and large boiling water springs. The most spectacular one, Strokkur, blasts boiling water up to 30m skyward, up to 3 times in a minute. After some quality time at Geysir, a short drive takes you to the Gullfoss waterfall, Iceland’s most visited, where glacial melt-water thunders in two stages into a 70m deep basalt canyon. Maneuver a gravel track snaking up mountains toward Europe’s second largest glacier, Langjökull. There, an optional snowmobile ride may be taken (at own expense), dependent upon weather, conditions, and time of year.

In the afternoon, descend again and traverse the south Iceland agricultural heartland on the way bake to Reykjavik.
