A propos de cette activités
The Holy Week celebrations include a tradition that dates back to at least the sixteenth century, a tradition which has been enriched with new developments and variations throughout the years. However, in terms of liturgy, the city also has its own elements, the Rito Bracarense (a rite from Braga), which is one-of-a-kind in the world.

The Easter cycle in the Christian liturgical calendar celebrates the mystery of the Death and Resurrection of Christ. This cycle begins with Lent, and its mains points are the Easter Vigil, which celebrates the great "Easter" or the "passage" of the Hebrew people after they crossed the desert to escape from slavery in Egypt to find freedom in the Land of Israel.

Based on this historical period, Braga's Holy Week includes cultural and religious event in its general programme that make it the most beautiful recreation of the Death and Resurrection of Christ in our country
