THE WORLD'S MOST FAMOUS MUSICAL FOUNTAIN
The Dubai Fountain Show is one of the brightest and most impressive fountain performances in the world. It was created by the Californian company WET, which also designed the musical fountain in front of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas. The Fountain was opened on May 8, 2009, together with the opening ceremony of the Dubai Mall. The construction of the fountain began in June 2008 by Emaar company, and in less than 1 year the official opening ceremony took place.

About the Fountain
The Fountain Show is an incredible performance of dancing water, lights and music. It is located in an artificial lake of 12 hectares in the Downtown, near the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. The Fountain is one of the largest and tallest fountains in the world. Its length is 275 m, and the height of the jets reaches 150 meters, which is approximately equal to the height of a 50-floor building.
The technical abilities of the Fountain are really extraordinary. During each performance, it raises about 83 tons of water per second. To provide a stunning full spectrum of color, its system uses 6,600 wet lights and 25 color projects. Incredibly powerful high-pressure pumps ensure the functioning of the fountain and create spectacular shoots of water.
The musical accompaniment is chosen in such a way that it looks like the fountain is really dancing. You can hear there classical compositions as well as contemporary arabic and world’s top song. Among the musical compositions used for the show, there were such famous songs as Michael Jackson's Thriller, Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman's Time to Say Goodbye, Skyfall by Adele and I will Always Love You by Whitney Houston.

The evening performance runs daily from 6 pm to 11 pm every 30 minutes and lasts 5 minutes.
There are also daily performances: at 1pm and 1:30 pm.
On Fridays daily shows starts at 1:30 pm and 2pm.

Best places to enjoy the perfomance
Waterfront Promenade is probably the most popular spot to observe the Fountain Show. Waterfront Promenade is an area, situated at the foot of the Burj Khalifa and along the Mall. It offers a great view of the whole performance. The only inconvenience is that the area may be quite crowded. It is better come 15 minutes before the show starts, take the best places and fully enjoy the spectacular performance. You can also walk along this boardwalk or have a lunch in one of the numerous restaurants that are located on it.
Souk Al Bahar area is a nice spot to observe the Show. This is a modern Arabian Souk, situated in the Downtown. At this marketplace you can buy traditional souvenirs, as well as clothes, parmums, jewels, local delicacies and much more. In Souk Al Bahar, there are also many restaurants and cafes for any taste. In addition, it is less crowded than Waterfront Promenade in front of the Mall.
The Fountain Lake Ride is an another option you can choose to enjoy the water show. Take an abra, which is is a small wooden boat, common in eastern countries and especially in the Emirates. You can take an abra boat to make a little journey around the Burj Khalifa lake and see the show even closer. Ships depart 15 minutes before the start of each show. If you decide to watch the show from the arba boat it will cost you about 70 AED (17 EUR).

At the Top: the entrance on the 124th floor starts from 135 AED, what is around 33 euros.
